WHIPLASH (NP with movement coordination impairment)

Biologie

Définition

Whiplash
Bony or soft tissue injury injuring from rear-end or side impact as a result of an acceleration/deceleration mechanism of energy transfer to the neck.

SUBJECTIVE ASSESSMENT:

-Np that may be associated with referred pain to UL

-trauma

-non-specific symptoms (dizziness, nausea, headache, memory difficulties, hypersensitivity to thermal, acoustic, light, odor stimuli)

-central sensitization


SPECIAL TEST:

-Deep cervical flexion test

-Neck flexor endurance test

-Neck extensor muscle endurance test

-sensorimotor impairment (altered muscle activation pattern, proprioceptive deficit, postural balance)
