RC Tendinopathy

Biologie

Définition

Intrinsic mechanism
Due to overuse, the degeneration of the fibers (tendinitis) as the main cause. Change in tendon structure (fibrocartilage formation). Inability to deal with compressive and tensile force => secondary impingement.
Extrinsic mechanism
Overuse injury, due to an internal or external impingement (compression).

SUBJECTIVE ASSESSMENT:

-pain after exercice or the next morning

-pain that might disappear during a warm up but come again during the cool down

-local tenderness (hear RC)

-crepitation may be present usually tenosynovitis

-overuse (cannot say a date)

TEST:

-Full can

Subscapularis muscle:

-Lift off test

-Belly press test

Infraspinatus muscle

-infraspinatus rotation test

EXERCICES:

They will depends on the irritability

-strengthening of the RC

-Scapula stabilization (SA strengthening, pec minor lengthening...)
