Subjective/Objective/Generic/Specific
°In a subjective genitive: N1 is the AGENT of the verbal idea in N2
°In an objective genitive: N1 is the OBJECT of the verbal idea in N2
Ambiguity: when the sentence doesn't clearly show if N1 is agent or object: "trump's recording" => The recording that Trump has made or Trump has been recorded?
°A genitive is specific when: it determines N1 and builds reference of N2, it belongs to the determination slot
°A genitive is generic when: it qualifies a noun and refers to a whole et, it belongs to pre modification slot
Ambiguity: when the sentence does't clearly show the determiner/pre-modification part and we need more information to figure it out: "these pretty women's gloves": gloves for women ? or gloves that belong to those women ?
When you analyse a type of genitive: describe the type of noun, the structure of the noun phrase, and the type of genitive, then justify with definitions and illustrate with examples if possible.
