CECS
increased pressure in a closed fibre-osseous space. Reduced blood flow and tissue perfusion.

SUBJECTIVE ASSESSMENT:

-endurance athlete

-bilateral

-overuse

-pain when doing an exercice and muscles attempt to expand within the fascia

-no pain at rest

-feeling of tightness during exertion

-symptoms resolve within a minute of stopping

-rare: paraesthesia/motor weakness during exertion

-compartment may be tense on palpation


TESTS:

-alignment

-length of soleus and gastrocnemius

-palpation

-biomechanical assessment of pelvic, hip, knee, control while running
